Notwithstanding anything contained in the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973 (2 of 1974), a police officer not below the rank of Deputy Superintendent of PoliceSubstituted by Information Technology (Amendment) Act, 2008, s. 39, dated 5th February, 2009, with effect from 27 October 2009. Earlier read: "Deputy Superintendent of Police"Inspector shall investigate any offence under this Act.
