Whoever knowingly creates, publishes or otherwise makes available a digital signatureSubstituted by Information Technology (Amendment) Act, 2008, s. 2, dated 5th February, 2009, with effect from 27 October 2009. Earlier read: "digital signature"electronic signature Certificate for any fraudulent or unlawful purpose shall be punished with imprisonment for a term which may extend to two years, or with fine which may extend to one lakh rupees, or with both.
