39. Travelling allowance. - (1) The travelling allowance of an official memberDefined in rule 2(o): member means a member of the Board of the BoardDefined in rule 2(e): Board means the Central Advisory Board constituted by the Central Government under sub section (1) of section 42 shall be governed by the rules applicable to them for the journey performed on official duties and shall be paid by the authorityDefined in rule 2(d): authority means the authority appointed by the Central Government under sub section (1) of section 45 paying the salary.
(2) The non-official members of the BoardDefined in rule 2(e): Board means the Central Advisory Board constituted by the Central Government under sub section (1) of section 42 shall be paid travelling allowance for attending the meeting of the BoardDefined in rule 2(e): Board means the Central Advisory Board constituted by the Central Government under sub section (1) of section 42 as per the instructions issued by the Department of Expenditure, Ministry of Finance, Government of India from time to time.
Explanation.- For the purposes of this rule, the expression "official memberDefined in rule 2(o): member means a member of the Board" shall mean regular government officers, officiating as members of the BoardDefined in rule 2(e): Board means the Central Advisory Board constituted by the Central Government under sub section (1) of section 42 in that capacity and "non-official memberDefined in rule 2(o): member means a member of the Board" shall be who are not "official members".
